Alanya is hailed as a resort city in Turkey, famous for its beaches, entertaining nightlife, and warm weather that will keep you out and about all day long. But what about the Winter season in Alanya? Does it compare to the Summer? Are you still able to enjoy all of the activities that you normally would during the warmer months?
In short, the answer is yes. Alanya never experiences snowfall, and the weather, although cooler than if you were to visit in the summer, remains mild enough through the short Winter to still be able to enjoy the beach life. While you might need a light jacket when the evening rolls around if you plan on exploring outside, it doesn’t detract from your overall enjoyment, and the active nightlife scene is sure to keep you warm as you’ll be dancing all night long.
For those who prefer to enjoy winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding, you’re also in luck. While not located directly in Alanya, the neighbouring city of Antalya is home to two ski resorts–Saklikent and Isparta–which are approximately a 3hr drive away. The resorts are open for the public to enjoy from November-May permitting the snow conditions.
No matter what time of year it is, there’s never a better time to visit Alanya than now. Come and see for yourself the beauty of the meditteranean coast.
